‘The Pantry’, an initiative of Life Foundations, sells heavily discounted food/grocery items to current Health Care Card or Pension Card holders and local families in times of hardship.
Who can access The Pantry?
Families who hold a current Health Care Card or Pension Card.
Also families who are going through hardships will be eligible to apply also.
Do we take other agency referrals?
Yes – from agencies that we have pre-approved. If you are unsure, please do not hesitate to contact us.
What sort of grocery products are available?
There are lots of food items available, and the list will change from week to week.
Staples such as cereals and tinned items, fresh vegetables and breads.
Some of the grocery items may be close to their use by date, the packaging made be damaged or the packaging may be incorrect (updated)
How much will it cost?
We will explain how the contribution fee works when you first arrive at The Pantry. All grocery items are heavily reduced – and you receive free bread and veg while they are available.
What time are is the shop open?
At this stage – Wednesdays and Thursday [10am to 2.30pm]
If there is still food available on Friday, we will open then also.
So what do I do to become eligible?
Simply come down on Wednesday or Thursday and we will start your application. Make sure that you have your Health Care cards / Pension card with you as we will need to sight it.
We will have lots of friendly staff and volunteers close by to help you with forms and explain how the system will work.
